What to expect on moving day?

We arrive at your home on time with all the necessary equipment. Our removalist team brings trolleys, blankets and straps and will happily help disassemble and pack any furniture and belongings.

We pack your furniture and boxes into one of our 25 specialist trucks. Your place will be left clean & tidy and you precious valuables will be carefully and securely strapped in place.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge more for weekends?
We understand that some of our customers are only able to move on the weekends. In the interest of giving everyone a fair go, we charge the same for weekend and weekday moves! We’re also striving to offer our customers a highly affordable moving experience so we’re one of the cheapest removalists in Sydney.
Do you move offices as well?

100%! We’re experts in office removals and logistics. With our corporate moves, we even send a coordinator free of charge to help strategise and organise all aspects of the move.

Can you dismantle and reassemble (beds, wall units, desks…)?

Absolutely! Our removalists are also handymen. Our certified team carry general tools and are more than happy to help with disassembling and assembling any furniture. However specialist tools such as drills will need to be supplied by the customer.

Where are you located?

We’re Sydney Removalists with our office located in the heart of Parramatta.

We do however, offer our services to anyone living in NSW as well as interstate/virtually Australia wide.

When and how do we pay?

Payment is either by cash or credit card a half hour before completion of the removal services on the day. Any other arrangements (i.e. postponed payments) will have to be arranged and approved by our head office before your scheduled move.

When it comes to our payment process, everything is transparent and up front. We tell you everything you need to know before the day we remove your furniture to your new home.

What about the free box service?

Our removalist team happily offers unlimited free boxes to help make your move that much easier! We ask for a conditional bond of $3 per box.

Can my mates help the removalists?
Of course, anything our customers can do to make moving cheaper, we’re all for it. However a special note to please avoid jumping inside the truck, since the insurance does not cover you!
How Long Have You Been Providing Removalist Services?

We started Six Brothers in 2009. Beginning as a family run business, we noticed people saw moving as a stressful experience. This made us determined to break the negative stereotype around moving by offering an exceptional service, excellent rates and by making moving day an enjoyable experience!

What days are you most busy?

We tend to be busy on weekends due to our customers working schedule. Due to this reason, we do recommend you book a few months in advance should you require our help on the weekend to ensure you have a spot.

What is backloading?
Backloading is utilising the empty space of one of our removalist trucks that’s completing an interstate or long distance removalist job. This will typically be a truck that’s returning from the state or town it originally came from.

Backloading is a great option for customers who have a little more flexibility with their moving sate in exchange for a cheaper moving option. It benefits both parties. We can use the space of a returning truck that would have otherwise been empty, in exchange for a cheaper rate on your move.

An important note: There’s absolutely no difference in the service when it comes to a regular move or a backloading move. All customers that choose backloading will still receive the same 5-star service Six Brothers is famous for!
What's the cost of a removalist?

The cost of a removalist comes down to many different factors. For example: the size of your house, amount of furniture to be moved as well as distance to travel can all factor into the cost of your move. Our goal however is to always provide the best rate for our customers!

How do you keep costs low?

Mainly by getting our processes down to a T. We’ve been helping our customers successfully move for years which means we can get the job done as efficiently and affordably as possible.

Do you charge a fuel levy?
Yes all jobs have a minimum of 5% fuel levy. Fuel levy can change depending on distance travelled:
 
  • Jobs that exceed 40km have a 10% fuel levy
  • Jobs that exceed 80km have a 20% fuel levy
  • Any jobs that have return travel are a minimum of 15% fuel levy regardless of the distance between
  • Additional charges may apply if the destination runs  through a toll road/highway
What times are you available?
The following are our shift times when you can book our removalists in for your next move:

  • 7:30 am – 9:00 am
  • 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • 3:00 pm Onwards
Any hidden costs?
No way. Being transparent and up front with our customers will always be the key feature of our service.

We ensure our customers are fully aware of all costs involved in their removal so they can be fully prepared.

When should I call a moving company?
The earlier, the better. Although the actual van assignment may not be made until a few days before your move, it’s wise to give your moving company from four to six week’s notice, if possible. The more lead time you can give, the more likely we will be able to meet your preferred delivery schedule.
How long does it take to move?
This depends on many factors, such as weather conditions, size of your home, time required to load and unload, parking, and the direction and distance your shipment is travelling.

We do however, work hard to ensure we get the move done as quickly and safely as possible!
Can my possessions be stored temporarily?

Absolutely. We offer highly affordable temporary storage solutions with well-ventilated modules where we can store your belongings in our local storage. Your goods will be safe and sound in our storage facilities until you’re ready to pick them up.

Note: Using our storage facilities comes with storage charges, warehouse valuation coverage and final delivery charges from the warehouse.

How do you measure quality?
We’re always seeking feedback from our customers and have a range of established channels that allow us to monitor performance.

We also survey our customers after their relocation. The results are tabulated by a third-party company and distributed to all internal service providers on a daily basis. This allows us to receive feedback on an ongoing basis, while also tracking trends so we can continue to identify areas for improvement.
